Brian Henry, Director

LLB | Admitted Barrister Sole in the High Court of New Zealand

► Brian was admitted to practice as a Barrister & Solicitor in the High Court of New Zealand in 1975, working initially for the law firm of Wilson Henry (now Hesketh Henry), before entering private practice as a Barrister Sole, specialising in commercial litigation.

► He has been involved in the New Zealand funds management industry for the past 15 years and has a strong background in legal compliance and corporate governance.

► Brian was a director of local holdings companies of Medea Forest Products Fund No.1 with responsibility for corporate governance, OSH and ESG for these entities

David Henry, Director

Bachelors (Finance and Commercial Law)

►Prior to Kinleith Continuation LP, David founded Medea Capital, an FCA-regulated corporate and investment advisory firm with offices in London and Singapore. He has 15 years experience in natural resources investments and finance across several institutions, specialising in mining and forestry

►Prior to founding Medea, he established the Mining Capital & Consultancy business at Oriel Securities and before that was Vice President in the Mining Finance division of Société Générale in London and Sydney. He was analyst for the bank’s principal investments book and sat on its Investment Committee from 2008.

►Before joining Société Générale, David worked for the Forestry & Primary Industries team at Bank of New Zealand and, before that, at Goldman Sachs JBWere.

Hon. Mike Rann AC CNZM, Director

BA Political Science | MA Political Science (Auckland)

►Premier of South Australia (2002–2011) achieving job creation, investment in health & education, the expansion of the mining industry, and growth of renewable energy – making South Australia the leader of wind and solar power in Australia.

►Australian High Commissioner to London (2012-2014), additional roles as Australian Ambassador to Italy, San Marino, Albania and Libya. Australia’s Permanent Representative to UN World Food Programme, UN Food and Agricultural Organisation and UN’s International Maritime Organisation. Member of UK, US and Global boards of The Climate Group.

Jan Trotman, Director

BSc (Biomedical)

►Over 20 years of senior management experience at consumer goods conglomerate Johnson & Johnson, including 13 years as General Manager (New Zealand)

►Board member of the New Zealand Researched Medicine Industry for 9 years. 

►Prior to joining the Pharmaceutical Industry Jan specialised in Medical Biochemistry, working in both the New Zealand and Canadian Public Hospital systems.  Jan has also worked as a civilian within the NZ Police Force.

Hon. Dr Peter Watson ONZM CNZM, Director

LLB| MBA | LLM DPhil (International Economic Relations)

►President & CEO of The Dwight Group, a Washington DC- based investment bank. Formerly Chairman, President & CEO of the U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).

►Prior to OPIC, Peter was appointed Chairman of the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) by President Clinton. In addition to his five years on the USITC, in 1989 Peter was appointed by President H.W. Bush to the White House as Director of Asian Affairs at the National Security Council, later serving as Senior Advisor to Armitage Associates, LLC.  In July 2018 Peter became a Partner in the Trans Guatemala Pipeline.
